Shadows and Synagogues

Shadows and synagogues
Well-wishes
Retraction from darkness into light

The nightmare's over
Sex is sinister; sex is a cruel joke
For individuals such as I am who can't deal with the pleasure
And could never feel complete without it

Vitruvian men
Leonardo's been conflicted
That's where I am

Justice in the face of cynicism
A college profesor gone bad
Giving back because I've taken so much

They're wrong in what they say
And I'm right
I can't convince myself otherwise

No matter how hard I try
Coming together with people unknown
My brother on the sidewalk of a street corner

A girl so nice they named her twice
I haven't met her half-likeness yet; we'll probably be better friends
The wife of my brother from a past life

Being pushed up a hill in my wheelchair
Going inside, dancing
Seeing an old, recent friend, a fellow drifter

Walking back home
Meeting members of the house
Eating

Leaving to go write
In our room here, nonetheless
Being called back out

Stepping just outside to smoke cigarettes
Two girls, two guys
Making plans, making mention of Chicago

She cleaned up my back when we came inside
Another piece of pizza and I sat here to work
While he went to bed; this is the end of inspiration
